I have a new chicla (~3.5") and am training him onto dead food/pellets. I trained him to take rosies from my fingers, and then switched it up to tilapia sliced to look like rosies. He chokes that down like there's no tomorrow, but only if the proper shape and only in the fingers. Frozen/dried krill, frozen/dried cubes and pellets are ignored.

In the meantime, does anyone feed these mixed seafood packs that you can get from the store? My wife and I call them sea trash? There are several brands that have things like mussels, clams, shrimp, squid, and octopus. It's basically $5 a pound, same as tilapia.

Is seafood taken/tasty even though it has a stronger flavor? Varied enough? They are cleaned and some things are par-cooked. Does anyone use this regularly or as a staple?

yes bro i feed them everyday with the seafood mix and massivore ithe pbass and rays love it. i think prawn is them best coz it doesnt get messy but its more expensive but if you dont care just get them mix with everthing in it. !!!!!!!! he will soon grow into a monster

My smaller bass never liked the seafood mix. I think it was because it was too chewy and they would spit it back up. The cats and rays loved it but the bass didnt. I stick to the raw shrimp and the tilapia.

My orino's eat mainly massivore pellets but my azuls are picky and eat fish filets....trout, whiting, tilapia etc as well as shrimp. I usually stuff a pellet or two in as well.
