I have a new chicla (~3.5") and am training him onto dead food/pellets. I trained him to take rosies from my fingers, and then switched it up to tilapia sliced to look like rosies. He chokes that down like there's no tomorrow, but only if the proper shape and only in the fingers. Frozen/dried krill, frozen/dried cubes and pellets are ignored.
In the meantime, does anyone feed these mixed seafood packs that you can get from the store? My wife and I call them sea trash? There are several brands that have things like mussels, clams, shrimp, squid, and octopus. It's basically $5 a pound, same as tilapia.
Is seafood taken/tasty even though it has a stronger flavor? Varied enough? They are cleaned and some things are par-cooked. Does anyone use this regularly or as a staple?
