Feeding Hikari Food sticks

i have starved my aro for 2 days. just recently my aro has eaten 1 or 2 pellets whole. n i must soak them in water n cut em in 2 n only then he eats em fully. how long must i do this till he eats the pellets as it is? bcs i saw videos of aros eating em whole n without soaking those pellets?

ps when aro eats pellets he didnt swallow it n just chew it till becomes messy. arent pellet-trained aros supposed to just em fully n swallow em?

Mine was also like that every day it ate more and more sticks and within 2 weeks it ate around 12 sticks!! After that the chewing happens

be patient, it takes a while. if you have to supplement your sticks use crickets or mealworms. i wont use feeders at all.lost too many prize fish to parasites. only problem is they might get hooked on the live insects.my big areo will avoid his sticks for days ,waiting for mealworms.
