Ok my jag has been here for like 3 or 4 weeks now and is fairly used to his new 75 gallon home. He has started coming out and chasing his pleco tankmates. I still have one problem though.... feeding time is tough because all he will eat is frozen bloodworms and flake. He eats those cause when they get in the water the filter pushes them down into mid water and he picks them off in the water. He will never come to the top and eat so I can't feed him things like pellets, krill, crickets etc. Hes about 3 inches and seems very healthy. Are they always like this, like do they never eat from top??? cause i understood these guys were exactly like oscars except they don't lay on there side like lazy oscars lol

once he gets more used to you feeding him he'll beg.
try chopped beefheart and shrimp

starve him for a couple of day he'll beg! if you put pellets in there and he dont eat them leave them untill eat ewats them!

Every time you feed him, just put pellets in the tank. After a while, he will learn that they are food and he will start to eat them. Something that will help is putting the pellets in front of a powerhead so they move more.
