Hi everyone a few times i have given my jardini earthworms i have found in the garden he loves them...
does anyone have an opinion on whether this is a good or a bad idea.?
Ive heard peopel say that it can be a bad idea do to things like insecticides
but i for one have never used an insecticide and it seems to have done no harm.
thanks .
kurt.

well, since they are from known clean land, I would say it is fine. I used to feed my gars earthworms as part of getting them off live food. They loved them. I was buying them though and it got expensive. I think they were like $5.00 for 24. If I had a spot like you do, I would have been digging them up too.:D

feeding eartrhworm from your garden to your jar.is fine as long as your sure that you dont use any kinda insecticides... but why take the risk if you can buy it in your LFS or a local bait store near your area and that way your sure that their free of anything!!!! plus their cheap too

Ahh great news then!! we have so many worms in the yard. and buying him food from the fish shop gets quite expensive especially with his apetite :)

yes earthworms are packed with goodies great from arowanas.
but you may want to get rid of the dirt inside the worms just incase they have munched on bad soil etc insecticides...

gut loading them is even better!

I'm with natgrapa. Where we live the county comes around from time to time and sprays for mosquito both by helicopter and trucks with large sprayers on the back. You can never be sure what your yard has been exposed to. To me it's not worth the chance to save a few dollars.
