I recently purchased a juvenile Arowana that is about 7-8” and looks to be in good health. Drip acclimated him last night for about an hour and transferred him in the tank. Didn’t seem overly stressed and explored and swam normally near the top of the water column. Casually bumped his nose against the glass but never spooked himself or hurt himself settling in which I had a previous Arowana that got spooked and ran into the glass so hard he paralyzed himself. But this one seems far more calm and relaxed however he hasn’t taken any food yet. I know he’s still exploring and settling into his new tank and usually I’ll give it 2-3 days before feeding any new fish. However he seems to be prowling for food and comes to the front of the tank when I walk up. Tried to feed him some mealworms and the Arowana didn’t show any interest.
What is the easiest food to get juvenile Arowana to eat? Not sure what the LFS or the breeder was feeding him before I purchased.
Water parameters:
PH: 7.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: below 10
The other tankmates are my two mini marble motoros, Redtail barracuda, and marble goby.
What would you guys suggest to get the Aro to start eating?
Thanks for your help in advance
