Feeding koi?

i think this is the right place to ask this i have two koi and my house has been very cold it tends to stay cold around 50 or so the heater i got dose not keep the water warm enof even with it turned all the way up and left for 3 days. so i picked up some hikari wheat germ for lower temprature feeding iv been useing the hikari gold for color since i got them. can i change there food just like that or how should i do it there feeding time is in 4 hours... ps im getting another heater next week when i get money

Koi and goldfish are not tropical, you do not need a heater for them. Feed them what you are feeding them and nothing needs to change. 50 will be more than fine for koi. Some peoples ponds freeze over in winter and all they do is keep a large hole open for oxygen exchange. Just keep what you are feeding and remove the heater altogether.

Yeah. koi will eat until the water gets cold enough to make them go dormant. other than that, they will eat you out of house and home.
 
You don't really need to feed them anything if you are getting a new heater in a few days.
 
Koi don't need heaters. Forget getting one. They are cold water fish.
 
Yea, and the colder the water, the less you'll have to feed them. Drop a few pellets into the water at a time so not to overfeed.
