I have heard many things about why one shouldn't feed certain fish/worms etc. I would like to feed my cichlids some ultra yummy food though... So I am wondering what would be acceptable.

Some worms off of my driveway?

Some Live-bearer babies that I bread myself?

Some frozen uncooked shrimp at my local grocery store?

I feed my guys nightcrawlers from the bait shop, I got a 5g bucket filled it half way with dirt and I put in bits of bread/veggies to essentially create my own little compost bin/worm farm. Home grown feeder fish are good also, I would stray from wild caught bug's b/c there is no telling what kinda toxins they have come in contact with esp if you live in the city.

Feeding worms or bugs is fine if yo live in an area where lawn chemicals arent used.Im very rural, nearest neighbors are a 1/4 mile away and I use nothing on my lawn.Dont use spiders.

Live fish are fine, leave the bread off.;)

Market shrimp, raw is better.oddly enough, some fish will only eat it cooked though.
