I sometimes pick up a few shrimp at the local grocery store as a treat for my fish but after seeing how much they like it and how well they respond to it I really want to switch them to it full time. I was wondering If any one knows where to buy bulk frozen shrimp and seafood, The market price will bankrupt me...lol also what is some other good "seafood" to feed them that will be extremely healthy and will promote great growth and color?

Thanks!!

Lots of people feed tilapia filets for good growth. Shrimp give good color. You might want to try asian markets for fresh fish. H-mart, 99 Ranch Market, etc.
You could always catch your own fish and freeze them. I usually catch mackeral, rockfish, sandbass, and if i get lucky fresh grass shrimp when i can find them. Mackeral on rare occasions cuz of the oil content but i always have an abundance of it.

Frozen shrimp are the best food for the buck.............Popcorn shrimp, the size 28-30 MEDIUM shrimp...........Try silversides...These are small fish..........Grab pinch full, well you know how to feed your monsters...............Crickets and mealworms.........

Shrimp is great for colour and tilapia is great for growth.
They are both great for your fish.
But if you want good prices you can catch your own if you live by a lake, river, stream, ocean etc
just make sure its not polluted lol.
You can also buy an un flavored shrimp rings which will last you a while.
One last thing you can feed your fish are bugs from outside just make sure they are not poisonous.

I would love to be able to catch my own but the closest thing to a lake, river or ocean that I live to is a drainage pond that people dump all sorts of stuff in...lol I have looked at the silver sides but all I have found are the small packages I think they are omega one or something like that and the lfs's around here and even the petco/petsmart charge an arm and a leg for them. I was just looking at he wholesale club flyer and I saw I can get 5lb bags of frozen shrimp there but I didn't know if there wan any place I could get a 20lb bag or something like that so I would be set for food for a while.the only thing I am worried about though is my CKF and LSN eating the shrimp or fish fillet, For some reason they wont even think twice about eating something if it isn't swimming around.

As far as heath, color, etc. you can stuff pellets into the shrimp/fish meat.

That's a good idea, I still have quite a bit of spectrum pellets I want them to finish up. Any ideas on how I can get my CKF and LSN to start eating shrimp and fish fillet??

For bulk seafood you could always find an online seafood distributer or a local one that will give you a discount. Also if you have any local open air markets establishing a relationship with seafood sellers there is always a plus. Usually they will give you big discounts and let you know when the stuff your looking for comes in.

I work at a restaurant so I can buy shrimp at $3.99 for 28-30 size and $3.50 for 50-60 size but I don't have a spare freezer to keep them because I have to buy box 24 lbs! you might want to ask a restaurant that you know so they can order your shrimps for you and you just come and pick up at the restaurant!
