Everywhere...
Hi,

I usually feed my plecos algae wafers and frozen bw due to my friend had just only fed them these when he had them. Just recently I started feeding my plecos market shrimp. They would attack it right away, but of course won't finish them. I had left it overnight for them to snack on it which they do...but this caused my water to smell bad. Thus making me to do a w/c every time I feed them the MS.

So I was wondering if you guys leave the market shrimp overnight or should take it out within 30 mins / hour?

Thanks for any info.

I would take out any left over food that has not been eaten after an hour. As the shimp starts to break down alot of different toxins begin to be release which is why your water start to smell

I feed an 8 inch L-114 (which is a carnivore) 2 market shrimp every other day along with some flake and NLS pellets with no promblems. He will devour 1 in an hour and the next morning the other is gone with no pollution results. I do a 25% wc weekly incidently.

You could just reduce the amount you're putting in. Maybe try feeding 1/3 of a market shrimp, might not be leftovers then.

Yes... I will do this too. Thanks.

Wow, nice... he has a monster appetite. Mine would just chew on some- leave it alone-go chew at it a little more-leave it alone-shred it / chew on it and it goes back and forth. Wish he would just devour it like yours instead of leaving pieces here and there. Thanks.
