hi i have a 4ft well stocked malawi tank with a 7" plec, 6" upside down catfish, gold loach and 2 blue botia, i am looking for suggestions on how to feed these fish as any food i put in my tank gets eaten by the malawis, at the moment i am feeding tropical flake and spirulina sticks, any suggestions ?:nilly:

I don't really recommend you keep Asian or Amazonian fish in a Rift lake setup.

the problem with this ends up being that frozen food for example, which can be sent down to the bottom fish using a turkey baster or syringe will probably end up being too high in protein and that will have negative consequences if the Malawi cichlids in the tank are mbuna

i have a mixture of mostly mbuna and a few haps and a frontosa, i have bought NLS cichlid formula which sinks and feeds omnivores, carnivores and herbivores so the catfish and botia will hopefully feed from that too, i am putting agae wafers if for the plec and a lump of cumcumber, it seems to love cumcumber.;)

The problem arises in water conditions, dietary requirements and compatibility issues which is why loaches and most plecos are obviously incompatible with rift valley cichlids regardless.;) Your loaches eat meat. Mbunas don't.
