So I have a question for all the people with massive GPH return lines.

I by no means have massive return but I do have A high flow rate, a fluval 403 and sump return pushing close to 700GPH.

I have to feed my fish sinkable food since I am to lazy to turn off the filtration every time I feed, and this limits my food selection. Not only am I lazy but I don't like turning off filtration as I can just see me forgetting to turn it back on and then going to work for 10 hours.

So how do you all do it, do you turn you stuff off to feed, or do you have the return lines fixed so you can feed floating food?

Make a switch to kill the power if you dont want to unplug, i saw a DIY thread on that.

i feed my fish sinking and floating without turning the filters or circulation off. i feed large pellets tho, so they wont get sucked into the filter. either one of the polys or the CK will pick the pellets from the filter intakes, so i dont have to worry about it.

only bad part about it is the food floats around real fast, so the fish tend to make quite a mess around the tank while their breaking the surface trying to catch a pellet.

So it would be exersie while they eat, swim fast or go hungry; I like it. I just love sumps and so I filter all my tanks that way, even small ones.
