Just got six Redhead Tapajos for my 125. They're all young...maybe 2-2.5" max. They currently share the tank with six Mascara Barbs, six Colombian Tetras and one fully grown Festivum. It's a very fun to watch and active tank. I've been feeding the crew NLS Optimum flakes and supplement that with frozen brine shrimp twice a week. At feeding time those poor Geos didn't stand a chance with the sharks (barbs) piranhas (tetras) and the whale (Festivum). They're all very aggressive eaters. How can I make sure the Geos get their fill?
Thanks.

I suggest adding a good brand of sinking pellet in your feeding routine so when the pellet breaks up on the substrate the Geo's will sift through the substrate.

Thanks Thomas that makes a lot of sense. Considering their still small size, what size pellet should they eat at this point?

A 1mm - 2mm sinking pellet will be fine. I like NLS personally, but I'm sure other brands are good as well.

Geos will graze. So as long as you do regular water changes I wouldn't worry about over feeding for a couple of days at first. If you watch the tank and see that the Geos get food at first that's great, but all day long they will be sifting, sifting, sifting.

Thanks. The nearby LFS stocks all kinds of NLS pellets and flakes.

It's still a new tank, so I've been changing water twice a week to be safe. When I let them out of the bag this afternoon, these guys went straight to the bottom and started sifting. Nothing shy or reserved about this group.
