I hatch and feed my JD fry baby brine shrimp everyday. I take out bbs and put them into another container so that i can use the hatchery for the next batch. It seems like by the end of the day a majority of the BBS die. They all bunch up on the bottom of the container. Is this normal? Are they dead or just bunching up?

Are you still aggitating the water and leaving them in the salt water solution?

no i take the aerator out, but leave them in the water they hatched in. I dont think they will run out of oxygen within two hours though. I am just worried they are dying and then starting to rot. I havent had any problems yet and the fry still eat them all, i am just being cautious

Brine usully will live in fresh water for 4-8 hours after pulling them from the original hatching water.

Also. Yes they do congrigate at the bottom ;) They are not dead they just group togehter..

Still.. It is best to keep Agitation ;) In the water. If you do this they can live DAYs longer ;) though it is suggested by most to feed them with in 24 hours due to nutritional loss...

Anyway... If you are feeding each hatch in the first day then I see this as not a problem ;)

They won;t start to rot inside of that time period ;)
