I am new to bichirs and was wondering, Do I need to make sure to feed something that specifically will fall to the bottom quickly enough that he can nose around and eat? I've been feeding frozen BW's for that purpose, but since he's the only bottom fish in my tank, will he do okay picking up scraps of freeze dried krill that I feed my arowanas (and other stuff)? My question, again, is "Do I need to make sure that He gets food, or will he take care of himself?"

My bichirs share their tanks with arowanas as well and they get fed the same foods as them. Lancefish, prawns, mealworms only difference is the bichirs get fed every 2nd day so i would stick to your usual routine and you wont go wrong

i would make sure they get food , so yes. buy a feeding stick if you have to. they will eat off the stick no prob.
