so i have 3 silver dollars in my 180 with some cichlids and i was wondering if anyone had some tips on feeding them. ive tried pellets and blood worms. the lfs i get them from was feeding them blood worms. the problem is when i put the food in the tank the cichlids eat all the food by the time the sd get there. any tips would be appreciated. and also is there something else i can feed them that maybe the cichlids wouldnt be interested in. thats a stupid question since cichlids eat everything but hey maybe someone knows of something. lol

i heard lettuce works well, and other fishes generally doesn't like eating them.

Yeah - attach some lettuce to your magnet glass cleaner (between the magnet and the glass) and just leave it there... My old SDs went NUTS over them... Or you could just buy an amazon sword and watch them pick it to death (gets kind of expensive though)

If you want to feed them the bloodworms then what you have to do is give the other fish a good feeding of you pellets or flakes and after they just about consumed all of the put in the worms. That method worked for me.

I feed mine frozen chopped spinach. The lettuce leaf between the magnets sounds like a good idea.

Mine love frozen/thawed Brussels sprouts. Just drop them in, they sink. Sometimes there's a tinny nub left after a day and that will float. Easy to scoop up and toss in the garbage.
