Feeder Fish

I have been keeping freshwater fish for 19 years. I have always done small community tanks. About 6 months ago I got an opportunity to convert my 75 gallon to a tank for large more aggressive fish. This has always been a dream of mine to grow larger fish. I currently have an African peacock bass (7 inches), an Arawona (8 inches), a green sunfish (6 inches), and a "freshwater" morel eel (18 inches). I love all these guys. They are beautiful creatures. There health and happiness are very important to me.

The first and obvious problem is my tank size and I know I gotta go bigger. Where my real issue lies is balancing there aggression towards each other with how much I'm feeding. I am currently feeding them about 8 to 10 dozen feeders a week. Now understand that my Current supply of feeders are inch long rosey minnows and comet gold fish. I also mix in vegetable and protein based flakes, beef heart, and lots of blood worms in with this diet.

Their food consumption is where my problem is currently lying. These guys are getting expensive to feed! Am I feeding too much ? Are there cheaper sources of food ? Am I even feeding the right things?

Thank you in advance for your post and guidance.

I would drop those feeder fish off the menu. I am not sure on the Moray Eel. But the others can eat pellets. I recommend Hikari brand pellets, they have a line for just Monster fish. You can also get frozen fish foods, like silversides, and several different cubes.

Xtreme fish food is suppose to be good. I just picked some up, community feeder and big fella (for my bigger guys.)
