Has anyone ever tried feeding oranges to goldfish? They were doing it at a LFS and it seemed like the fish liked it a lot. Could it boost color?

They do it at petsmart here too. I'm not sure if they like it- goldfish tend to eat anything they can get into their mouths, including fresh feces from the anus of a tankmate. I suppose the vitamin C could help them, but you'd have to keep an eye on how long you had the orange slices in your tank- it's got the potential to negatively affect water quality due to their sugar content.

lol im eating a range now// ill go feed the feeders no pun intended

Come on, goldfish don't eat the feces from their tankmates... they spit it out most of the time :D

I feed orange to my goldfish... I take a slice (with the peel on) and just clip it to the tank. I used to squeeze out some of the juice, but now I just stick it in as is.

They may not eat it right away, but generally introducing it a few times and leaving it in long enough will let them recognize it as food. Mine love orange now, fun to watch them pick at it.
