I have some frozen shrimp from a bait shop and was wondering if I can feed it to my Oscar.
shrimp is anywhere from1-3 inches
Oscar is 7-8 inches

Should be fine for your fish. I used to feed my Oscar shrimp from the grocerie store all the time. I would just rinse and maybe ripe it into smaller pieces with your fingers.

Just fed my Oscar the roe sacks from the smaller female sea trout we caught the other day, we always realease bigger females.

He eats shrimp, mud minnows , June bugs, cicadas, Japanese beetles, anoles, geckos, cichlids cull fry and even some pellets. Total garbage disposal. He can’t catch cichlids very well so I hand feed those to him usually. Nevertheless he has about a dozen “roommates” at this point. Healthiest Oscar I’ve ever had.

I have also read that squid can be good for Oscar too is this true.
What are your thoughts about feeding Oscar live fish?

I have never fed squid. I have no problem feeding my Oscar cichlids culls and gambusia as a component of there diet. No thaminase issue to worry about, and those are fish that are orettt close to the fish that constitute part of there real diet. But they aren’t real picavores- they eat a lot more bugs and crustecean than fish
