My oscars are 3 yrs old and are of good size now. I generally feed them dry pellets. Those 1/4" x 1/4" ones. I buy them as large cichlid pellets. How many of these does a fish of this age need? Their diet is supplimented by the odd insect of a night as there tank is outside on a verandah & the light attracts a few in as i live in the tropics. The info I have got from the array of local shops is one a day to as much as they can eat. I generally give them about 5-6 a day. Need some pro advice

I think the best way to feed fish is to feed them as much as they can eat in say a 2-3minute span of time, then do this 1-2 times a day.

By now you should know your Os pretty well. When they no longer appear to be starving, then you should stop feeding. Every O is different so you need to let yours tell you when enough is enough HTH
