Do you have trouble feeding at least one type of fish in your tank due to a "hog"

It seems that no matter any attempt I make, my oscars end up eating most of the food I drop in for my pictus. It doesn't matter is I drop in pellets, or bloodworms, it's all the same. Right when I drop in food for the pictus, the oscars gobble it all up, and by the time the pictus realize there is food in the tank, and they start their frenzy, the food will be mostly gone...any suggestions?

Yep my oscar did the same thing then i moved the pictus with some convicts try target feeding or distracting the oscar.

I've seen posts from people who use a tube to get the food to the bottom of the tank without the Oscars getting to it first. Another option would be to feed the Oscars first and while they're busy eating drop in the food for the Pictus. Although Oscars can pack a lot in their mouths so the second option has a high failure rate :)

I tend to use floating pellets that the oscars go after and some sinking food stuffs for the catfish. Any food like bloodworms and such that I feed for my green terror and oscar eventually has scraps get to the bottom due to the mess that the brutes up top make.

I have also used tongs in the last week to put a treat under a piece of driftwood for my pictus to get since my other guys are too large to get into the small crevice that the pictus hide in.

Yeah haha, most of the time when I try that the oscars will quickly gobble down their food, then go right and eat whatever I'm feeding the pictus's. That tube method is pretty interesting however, not a bad idea

Feeding tube to the catfish cave. Oscar moves in and gets a scare from the tube, backs off for a good long while while the cats eat.

yeah it my EBJD he eats everything i put in there.

As in putting food where the pictus is while the oscar is eating maybe with the tube.
