i just got a juvenile silver from my lfs. it is about 2" and quite a pretty fish. when i got him he did not have the yolk sac so i figured it would start taking food. the problem is i havent been able to get it to eat. i have tried market shrimp, bloodwoorms in a floating surface feeder, flake and yesterday i bought feeder guppies out of desperation. i cant figure out why he wont feed and im getting a little worried. it has now been 5 days and as far as i know he hasnt eaten anything. any advice or help would be appreciated. do they need anything special when they are little guys?
thanks

i would have tried everything you tried...aro's are really sensitive when young, i usually don't get them until there at least 5in...try adding some of that garlic stuff to the food you feed it, i forget what it's call, some kinda garlic extract, i've seen it mentioned on MFK before. best of luck to you

I don't want to hear about problems with juv aros. I pick up my first one today from my lfs. They ordered me a juv for $15.

Good luck

You dont have to HEAR ABOUT HIS PROBLEMS......Dont read it then, or post about it......

As far as you baby Aro not eating.....Keep tryin what you got going on....blood worms and floating pellets might just do the trick....once he is hungry enough to eat....he will....What size tank you got himn to grow up, any tank mates that might be scaring him?.....I think he just needs time to get used to his new and last home.....hes been moved a lot in his first few months.....give him time

Come back to Earth. I'm just joking. :D

find out what it was eating at the store

try baby guppis or bambusias, the black live mosquitos did work in mine and she ad yolk sac :)

I agree with rook, find out what they were feeding the little pig at the
store. ( I call them pigs because my silver eats almost anything )
The only other suggestion I would have is small guppies.
Good luck!

he is in a 30 gal breeder tank at the moment with three platys as tankmates. i also have a 55 gal if need be but i am about to buy a new place where i will be building a big (300+) custom tank for his future home.

i will keep trying. hopefully he will be fine.
