Hello, I have a silver arowana that is a really messy eater. He'd put one or two aro sticks in his mouth at a time and spit out about 95% of it.

So the question is what would be a good fish or a few fish that would eat all the uneaten crumbs and wouldn't get eaten by the arowana who is about a foot now.

They are in a 180 gallon tank: 6x2x2.
In it is:
A one foot silver arowana
9 inch gar
9 inch senegal.

Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

im housing a golden gourami to help maintain that same issue.
not sure about having a golden gourami with any other fish longer nor bigger than 6"

clown loahes, make sure to provide hiding spots.

when i had my silver at about 2.5 inches i fed him floating sticks, he was too small to handle big ones so i had to break them up in half. make sure you get a little cup, put water in the cup and let the sticks soak for about 5-10 min to get soft. they might be too hard for your big aro try it and see if it works

Alright thanks. I'll try some clown loaches but do you know were I can get a few at a reasonable price and about what size should I get them? Thanks!

And I'll try soaking them, hopefully that will work.

The bichir also creates a good amount of crumbs too though, but maybe, they're pretty cool.

Not sure about the gold gourami though, I heard they have teeth and scratch up the tank, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the suggestions though!

A pleco of some sort? My Sail fin pleco does an excellent job of eating left over pellets and krill.

I've read about plecos being deceiving producing more waste then what they eat, though I also have a 2 inch pleco haha

I also have these sort of worms forming, I'm not sure what they are but I'm guessing it is from all the wasted food (that's what the LFS said too), all the water parameters are in a good condition.
