I feed mine twice daily.

Pellets, BW and beefheart.

How big is it? If its a juvenile, you could feed it twice a day. As an adult you can go once a day or every other day. They are omnivorous fish and will eat almost anything you can think thats edible to a fish. Pellets, sliced leafy vegetables , shrimps..

mine is a monster, eats like one too....twice a day, i hand feed him four handfuls of koi pellets.......sumtimes i slack a little and he goes and wrecks havoc on the plants.....giant eater...

at this size is he consider a juvenile, medium or adult already??? he's about 11- 12 inches!!!

It's an adult, though they are capabile of growing larger. You can feed it once or twice a day, just remember...they more you feed the more you clean.

I believe they need veggies in their diet and need to be fed fairly frequently. It's to do with the length of their gut.
