Are meal worms an ok food for poly's?

I have just been told on another thread that if live the meal worm may burrow out of the fishes stomach..... can this be true???

Heard the rumor but never saw any evidence of more of a concern would be the hard outer(chiton)shell causing a blockage to reduce the risk of this feed only the white freshly shed worms as part of the diet-Anne

LOL I've heard that urban legend a thousand times. If you really think that mealworms can burrow out of stomachs then you better not eat fruit so trees don't grow in your stomach :).

But seriously they're great nutrition. However the shells are undigestable...typically come out the other end hollow and in one piece....groooossssss.

I'd use them as a treat.
