There's a few Of these threads in other forums, but im interested in how many other tigerfish fanatics feed their fish raw prawn or cooked prawns. ? ( both frozen and defrosted before use).
What are the pros and cons? Do they grow quicker feeding on one or the other?
Those that do feed raw prawns, do you find they get hooked on raw and will never go bak to frozen cooked prawn? This is something I heard.

I currently feed a mix of pellets as
Staple. Mass/carn/cichlid gold /sturgeon. All hikari of course.
Supplement with frozen prawn twice per week. Started to mix in some raw prawn and the fish love it.

My NTT's started eating the lil bits of raw prawn that came out of my aros mouth after a lil chew. They seem to love it. Helps me by cleaning up the lil bits for me.

I've been feeding raw jumbo prawns for over a year now and only go back to cooked if there are none on half price offers - when the larger Tigers eat 6 - 10 each, I reckon I'm justified waiting for the half price offers! They will get prawns one day and lancefish the next, usually getting fed for 3 or 4 days then a day or two off.
Most of them will completely ignore the cooked ones when I have to go back to them.
I suspect the raw ones contain many more nutrients than the cooked ones, whatever the difference is there is no doubting my fish prefer them.
I never feed straight from the freezer, always defrosted and rinsed off thoroughly.

If they take raw and cooked then I would use both, imo raw is better because most cooked prawns have salt contents, raw also has more nutrition.

I feed raw 5x weekly, as far as growth I've an inch to inch and a half growth in 4 months

Cooked anything lose a significant amount of nutrients. I've always fed smelt, shrimp, prawn, etc in raw form and would strongly recommend others do the same.

How long have u fed dats With raw?
Add any other food in during the time.
And how big They start ad how big now?:D

Raw shrimp and tilapia have always been a staple diet for my fish. I don't have any new pics, but growth has been impressive as far as dats go. Here's a shot from about a year ago. Most of these fish are 12"+ now (not in my tank, unfortunately :( )
