Hi guys,

was just wondering if there was any suggestion for feeding regime for my community tank. Tank residents includes 35cm Flagtail, 20 cm Pink giant gourami, 5 bala sharks ranging from 15 ~20cm, 2 silver dollars, 13 clown loaches from 10~20cm, 1 sail fin pleco 18cm and a common pleco 10cm.

Currently i am feeding them Hikari cichlid gold/gold sinking/biogold/excel mixed with cyclopeze in mini pellets all mixed up together twice dailiy, 6 algae wafers once daily, blood worms once a week and green mussels chopped up once a week too as a treat. I am finding that the giant gourami is scourging up everything that is placed in the tank and the flagtail struggles a bit for food as its more docile.

Any suggestions on how i can improve on the current feeding regime or how i can simplify it? should i move them onto medium sized pellets or stick with mini pellets? what about other things within the hikari range like food sticks, carnivorous pellets etc....

thanks for the help

Cheers

Eric

stick with mini pellets, probably try to feed your flag tail individually if you know it may not be getting enough food.

try adding in a larger pellet for the gourami. if he's the pig, he SHOULD go for the bigger pieces of food first, hopefuly leaving the smaller stuff for the flagtail

i know this works with my pacu, as they will go for the 7.5mm pellet, leaving the 3.5 or 5.5 for the smaller dempsey and CK

and feed them anything and everything for freshwater fish you can. hikari pellets, krill, blood worms etc.....the more varied their diet, the better.

thanks guys for your suggestion.... i guess i am on the right track..... but definitely will try to vary the diet more....

cheers
