At this point this is purely hypothetical, but what can rock bass be trained to eat? And, in the wild, do they eat purely soft fish, or hard cruseations as well?
Can they be trained onto nonliving foods, even if they aren't moving?

Thank you! Thinking of possibly doing a long-term science project involving these fish.

And, as always, please pardon my spelling.

They eat anything from soft worms to hard shelled bugs and small fish as well that can fit in there mouths same with most fish and yes can be trained onto pellets.

The RB will more than likley train you before you train it. My son's rocky has eaten ever type of insect/crustation known to the Upper Pen. He also eats pellets, fish, worms, part of a PB&J, etc. Basicly a North American oscar.

Would they be able to eat zebra mussels? (Could you train them to and are they physically able to? Zebra mussels are known for having hard, sharp shells for their size.) I am brainstorming senior projects, and I was thinking of doing a project involving the control of zebra mussels.

I seriously doubt it.
