Was just wondering if it would be a no no to feed our 2.5' rtc wildcaught fish since we enjoy spring/summertime fishing. If the wild fish may have bacteria/disease is there anyway to quarantine and cure them before feeding?

I can't imagine it would be anymore dangerous than giving him store bought feeders...probably less dangerous imo. However with that said I'd probably recommend not doing any live foods. Instead using stuff you know would be safe, like massivore pellets, frozen/thawed tilapia, shrimp, etc...

If you freeze these WC fish you will have no issues since this process will kill anything harmful. Just thaw out and feed.

Freeze the fillets first to kill most parasites....most.

freezing will kill parasites but not neccessarily illnesses caused by bacteria or viruses. Not to scare you but just don't think freezing is the end all solution. A good salt soak wouldn't hurt either before you freeze or feed.

I filet, soak in high Salt solution, freeze, thaw and rinse, then feed. No issues for about 2 years now. Feed perch, bass, trout, salmon, and bullhead from the lake I live on.
