I used to feed mine salmon and found it really messy, I was using store bought frozen stuff, maybe I wasn't cutting it up right?

Do you not get an oily mess when you feed salmon. I used to feed it to my piranha and found it messy too.

I sometimes feed rainbow trout to my silver aro. it does make the top of the water oily so I try to coincide it with a water change.

~ Ya alittle oil but that is what is so good for the fish. I just do water changes after i feed it for a while.

I think I might try my cichla on some White fish fillet.

~ My fish will eat any fish peace that hits the water but love Salmon.
