do anybody feed thier pbass shad, the feeders is taking a load out of my pocket so i went to the lake and got some shad, i cut em up in little pieces and boy does my pbass, arowana ,oscars love it. i'll feed whole shad also if they are small enough. have been feeding them shad for the past 4 months or so. cheapest way of feedin them so far.

Good for you,I dont use shad but I feed my guys minnows. They seem better than the scrawny rosy reds and low nutrition goldfish at the stores and it takes less of them to fill their bellies.

so you don't quarantine or anything?
Oh most of coursely,I treat and quarantine them before they go into the feeder tank. They are treated with coppersafe and given medicated flakes along with the regular flakes, they take to the flakes quickly.

If you're cutting them up any way you could freeze them before you feed them. That would help with some of the possible parasites.

It's definitely easier on the pocket.

Nice, I was really asking the guy that catches shad at a lake. My bad I should of quoted him.
