Feeding Shellfish to CLs

When feeding CLs mussels or clams do you cut them up first, or just add them to the tank and allow the fish to bite off pieces?

I leave them on the half shell

for my SW tank, i cut strips off so everyone can get a few lil peices then i throw the shucked shell in the tank and let the nit pickers clean em' out
