So I have read that some people feed their fish shrimp or prawns.

I'm assuming these are grocery store prawns/shrimp?

Are they frozen or fresh?
Cooked or raw?
Shelled or not?

Thanks for the info.

I feed my cichlids and other predatory fish frozen / thawed raw shrimp. They love it. And I shell them before I cut them up and put them in the aquariums

I used deshelled frozen shrimps, and then cooked and ate the rest :p

Freshly frozen stuff is probably best

I feed my large American cichlids live river shrimp and they love them.

I'm also after knowing if I can buy prawns from my local supermarket to feed my aro but I always look at the raw and frozen but I'm worried they will have too much salt in them as it says on packet that they add salt.

Could I just rinse them a few times to try remove some of the salt.
