Can I feed my clown knife shrimp that you buy at the grocery store? It has already been boiled, pink in color? I have been feeding it whole earthworms which it loves.

Sticky and discussion said market prawns or market shrimp. I can't tell if its uncooked or not, but I'd go for uncooked. On smaller ones, shelled is safer, I'd think. Hope some one else replies because I want one in the future.

Remove the shell and don't boil it. If it can take the shell or the clown knife is large enough, you can simply remove the tail and that last shell segment before the tail and the head together with the sharp head ornament. The clown knife can get calcium from the shrimp's shell.

Second that. I used to purchase them for an adult snowflake mr eel i once had in a sw setup. You should be fine.

Feed my fire eel and oscar frozen uncooked market shrimp all the time. Just thaw as needed and remove excess shell. Used to feed it to my aro and he had the brightest colors.
