i have 2 silver dollars in my 30 gallon tank with my convict. it seems that they only eat the leftovers of the convict that sink to the bottom and they are not good at eating from the top. i can make flakes sink but i want to give them better diet. how do i make other foods sink (bloodworms, krill etc) i know they are herbivores , so what vegatables can i feed them? cucumbers?

I use veggie clips, my SD's eat everything.....partial to romaine lettuce, spinach, prawns, HBH cicilid Attack ( sinking pellets):headbang2

Thats weird, I have the opposite problem. Food never hits the ground because the SD's are such fast and expert swimmers. Get some floating pellets and they will learn to eat them from the top. I usually feed them first and than put in the sinking stuff when they are full.

my silver dallars r crazy! they eat everthing... i offer crushed hikari algea pellets, hikari canri pellets, shrimp, and bloodworms.... they eat it all,, and most of it sinks... most frozen food sink when thaw, try a few out, they shouldnt reject nething

my silver scat is like silver dollar because he loves his veggies. I give him seaweed on a vegi clip and he destroyes it. I feed him vegi wafers too.

you might try the tetra colorbits...the orange ones....they sink and a pretty moderate rate and my silvers love them

Mine eat in the feeding frenzy with mbuna,no fear in those guys.Veggie flake spinach zuchinni, crumbles whatever the silvers are the first to get it.when they were in the oscar tank they ate his turds:yuck:
