A place I am currently working at has literally thousands of small black slugs everywhere on the pavement and was wondering if anyone has fed these to their fish. Or if anyone knows whether they are safe or not. It would be very easy for me to fill a container of them for fish food, so was just curious.

I dont think u should. Some slugs have poison in the slime that allows thier movement. I wouldnt try it...

If u do want s pest to feed ur fish tho i recommend mosquito larvae fish LOVE them but do it as an occasional treat not tooo often

I fed some slugs to an oscar , and he spit them out. Since he didn't swollow them i can't say they are non-toxic.

Tried the same thing and got the same result years ago with my oscars, and they were pigs, so slugs I guess are a no no.

My Pumpkinseeds and Bullheads will eat slugs, but they prefer other items. Also, anytime you collect wild feeders you have to be sure they haven't been exposed to toxins or chemical fertilizers. I collect from my yard all the time, but we only treat organically, so I don't worry about chemicals
