i've bought a pretty small gray moray specimen, it's about a foot long and pencil-width. the store was feeding table shrimp, but i've not had success with shrimp, squid or raw fish. i am going to try mysis shrimp, ghost shrimp and any other seafood i can get my hands on, but it's been a week since i got the eel and though i know morays can go long periods w/o food, this is a pretty tiny [and valuable] specimen. any advice is appreciated.

I have a 9" chestnut moray that I had trouble feeding. It had been eating krill at the store. The day I brought it home, it ate a small piece of table shrimp. That was it for the next week. I tried shrimp, squid, and frozen mysid shrimp with out any luck. Finally fed it 3 small mummichogs (live fish) before going on vacation for a week. When I returned home, it immediately ate shrimp. Eats about anything I put in front of it now.

I would give your eel another week, keep trying the foods you listed. If it doesn't eat the food immediately, remove the food and try again the next day. It should come around and eat what you put in front of it. Use live feeders as a last resort. Good luck and keep us updated.
Do you have any pictures?
