I've seen something called "super worms" at my local pet store, by the reptile section. I've heard of super worms being fed to fish, but is it the same thing? It comes in a container like you buy worms in, and it's like 7 dollars for 100. Can I feed them to my bichir?

+1, go for mealworms, also if you ever wanted to breed them for constant supply, you can, compare to super worms.

I cut mine, you can't tell if they will fight within the stomach, they might give some scratches, but really they won't eat it out from the stomach, most predator's stomach are designed to hold live food within there... But for safety reasons I drown them for about 5-10 minutes first, and squish their heads. You don't need to decapitate them, just feed them when they molt.

It sure make a mess when poo and also, the worm when swallow whole (still alive) it'll chew your fish stomach. The rest is up to your imagination.

I have fed superworms to my cichlids a few times. Someone had posted a tip on here and it worked great! You can put them in the freezer and then just take them out and cut the head off. I agree with Empyreal about the mess with the exoskeleton. I had to clean them all out of the tank. I live in East Tennessee so night crawlers are plentiful on our farm. I just go out and catch a couple after a good rain and my fish love them! Walmart sales the nightcrawlers in the sporting good section. Good luck :)
