Keep on feeding them black worms. That is a fantastic start for retic rays.
Retic rays are referred to teacups rays, so I'm assuming as so.

Never really heard of over feeding a ray. You want a nice big hump on its back after feedings just above the tail. Black worms are great, next add cut nightcrawlers once it hits the 4-5 inch mark. Then if your lucky you can get them on cut shrimp haha. Relics can be finniky eaters you'll probably have best luck with types of worms

I am glad that you mentioned over feeding. Stingrays have a very high metobolic rate and thus burn through calories very quickly. It is important to feed your rays but not to over feed your aquarium. If your ray is skinny, IE hip bones or other bones apparent, you should feed as much as the fish will eat as many times a day as you an comfortably feed while keeping the water parameter in

I feed my retic. on mysis shrimp, bloodworm, and black worm. It will also take small chopped tilapia. He also learned to eat pellets at the LFS but I dont encourage him, I think he just did it because he was starving.

I can usually start weaning my retic pups off of black worms at about 4-6 weeks of age onto cut up night crawlers. The pups are roughly 3-3.5 inches. They have found that you CAN over feed rays and it can cause premature death and fatty liver disease. I feed my rays every day to every other day. And I have let me adults go 3-4 days on occasion if I am out of town. I have had rays since 2005 and have been breeding retics since 2010. I feed black worms, night crawlers, raw shrimp, silversides, and talapia.
