Feeding tiger shovel head catfish

mine loves to snarf down massivore and shrimp. He will eat tilapia as long as it is cut into bite sized pieces.
mine still only eats live fish.. but the tank gets a variety of pellets and other live foods. hes also quite small yet.
I picked up my lima shovelnose stuck on feeders and as my florida gar is also stuck on feeders and im going to getting more gar and a tsn soon also stuck on feeders im just waiting till i have everyone to start getting them off feeders lol, i gut load my feeders with massivore and what ever flake food is closest to the tank lol
just starve them for a day or so longer than usual. They won't let themselves die. They are not stupid. They will eventually learn that if that is all you give them, they will come off the idea of feeders.
Also look for garlic enhancer from Kent. Soak the massivore in this stuff before feeding it to the fish. It will help.

my tsn ate anything from tilapia to massivore to my peacock bass but that really pissed me off lol

When i first got mine it would only eat live. After I got some weight on it, I stopped feeding it live and offered pellets and silversides. After about 5 days it took down the silversides and had no problem with food after that.
