Feeding Time with Mbenga the African Bullfrog

Playing around with the camera today and decided to have a shoot with Mbenga

Got to start power feeding him before hibernation time. I hate having frozen mice in my freezer for the next 5-7 months.

I do...I usually try to give him crickets after he awakens from hibernation, but haven't done it in a couple of years (more like 1 year since he sleeps the other year)

I believe he's 6 years now

these guys aren't that tropical, when it dries out they basically bury themselves and slow down their metabolism.

No, they don't have to but it is perhaps a healthy way to allow them to reset their biological clock. My female doesn't sleep more than a month long at any one time. If you keep the temps up and the food coming they won't sleep in my experience.
