feeding time

when im feeding my 2 x AT and 3 IT's, unless the the food hits them right on the nose they (9/10 times) leave it then usually get it off the bottom later or when the light goes off. should i leave it in or remove it?
i have a couple of plecs and a catfish that clean up so it doesn't get chance to rot if left

cheers adds, i wasn't just sure what to do for the best as it can be a few hours between me feeding and them eating....im trying to get the indo's onto pellets, (the AT's take already!) which obviously float so this won't be such an issue in future.
