Feeding VATF

What should I be feeding my VATF to maximize its health and growth?

Right now its about 7" and on feeders and frozen krill.

well the best thing to do is keep him on feeders but maximize his range of diet

I don't like giving live because the quality of feeders in my area are inconsistent. I would stick with frozen fish chunks and food sticks.

They may grow faster on live but what good is it when they catch a parasite and end up dying anyway. I've had that happen too...

Never had a fish catch anything from a parasite in 10 years. My area seems to always have healthy feeders available.

i'd say if you could get him on pellets that would be the most nutritionally sound diet ..... frozen foods are a great treat or staple if they refuse pellets ... i'd also stay away from live, although the fish loses that edge to him not chasing his food, its healthier to the fish to do krill and silversides ... variety is also important so try multiple types of frozen foods
