I was feeding my 180 gal tank.. which has 4 datnoids and 8 monster eating bichirs... i fed them last saturday or sunday with beef heart.. and yesterday which was 3 days after i decided to feed them again... so i was greedy.. i fed them all the left over beef heart. all of they got a big tummy ready to explode.. for some reason i just though of giving some shrimp, so i did. after 30 mins i changed the water (50%). today, i went home and check the fish.. they seemed to be fine and all.... then i notice that there were beef heart and shrimps that are lying on the gravel... they all ate the food but it seems they puked it out!:irked: tested my water and the nitrate was undeterminable due to color variation of red.. seemed really dark red. so it meant it was too high... i change another 50% tonight... it was stressful but better work on it than loose it!:irked: oh by the way amonia and nitrite were zero.

thank you for the advise.. it was my first time in several years to change water right after eating.. i was thinking like feeding discus and changing water due to the pollution it creates on the water after feeding beef heart. :( now i know.. i'll be careful not to change it again right after feeding. my hands were just too eager to change the water for some reason.

by the way... what type of discus is that on your avatar? its soo beautiful!!! i know you sell discus ands stuff. do you think it can be mixed with my 180 gal tank with bichir and datnoids? pm me for some details.:D
