feeding whites

can whites frogs live good on mostly meal worms,wax,and such or do crickets need to be a staple.Worms are just easier.Also,whats the best cleanest way to rais meal worms?
 
mine are fed like 99 percent crix. i dust them with a calicium/d3 powder. my female will eat mealowrms once in a while. she also took down a big horn worm. has also eaten a few earthworms. and even though i know its not a good idea ate a couple pinkies in her lifetime(i got them for something else, and they werent eaten so i gave them to her just to get rid of them. not at same time). man my female can be a pig. the male has only eaten crix as it wont eat out of my hand. so yeah, i agree that crix should be the main diet
 
so how many iritating crickets do you guys feed a day?I just wish i had an out of the way area to store them.When i bread all the other lizards i had a garage so it was nice.Now i just cant think of a spot where i would want the bugs.Thats what sparked the worm questions,much easier.I saw at pet co some little tub of like 20 tiny little crix for 5 bucks!!!!!!Kiss my ---!
 
i feed my frogs mainly 2 times a week. i have 2 in a tank so i put about 12 in at a time. maybe a few more. plus the female usually eats 2-3 out of my hand right away.

seriously, im having a brain fart!! useually? usually? usely? :nilly: :confused: :swear: wtf!
 
dude, with all the crix you must use why dont you order a box online? then set up a tank or a bin and through food into them fior the ones you save for the next feeding? 5 bucks for 20 crix? thats outrageous

lol,i dont buy those ones,i just thought it was nuts.I used to buy bulk when i was a breeder but now only my tarantulas eat them so its easy.I just thought if a dang frog needs to eat as much as ppl say then you gotta have crix stored in your house all the time and i dont have a garage to keep them out of site and i hate crix!lol.This is why i think im leaning to the crested and if blue tounge skinks are as docile as i hear then im getting one of them.Just trying to find a baby in cali.I still want a whites though,just didnt want to do crix every day.I used to have to order like 2-3000 at a time and they were just everywhere.I got burnt out.I guess i could do like a 10 gallon with them or something and put it in a cabinet,idk.
 
well, like i said i only feed 2 times a week. everyonce in a while 3 times. i have a lot of pet stores around me so its easy just to pop in and out though. when i would go on vacation i would just get a one gallon ice cream bucket, poke small holes in the cover, and get some egg crate and leave them in there for the kid that watched my pets while i was gone. worked well
