Has anyone ever purchased wild caught cichlids and be able to sucseed in feeding them comercial food or anything for that matter. I purchased 6 four inch wild caught festaes from one of the vendors in this site and they never ate. Tried every thing eventually they all died.:irked:

i had some wild caught sunfish that my friend gave me. I didnt want to put them back in the lake for fear of spreading disease so i kept them in my 75 gallon.

i started putting them on commerical food by using sinking algae wafers becuase i think they have some smell to them. The fish immediatly grabbed them. Then i took sinking chiclid pellets and tried them. One fish cautiously approached it, ate it, figured that it liked and and the whole bunch of them ran for it xD

it was kinda like a "monkey see monkey do" moment lol.

Yup I have a wild caught festae female from Rob at Keystone Aquatics....Started her out on krill and worked her into pellets...Now shes a hog

All my WC's ate pellets right away as soon as the other fish ate them and now they can't get enough of them. I feed a varied diet though Krill, BW, EW, Crickets, zucchini, romaine lettuce, beef heart, shrimp, cichlid sticks, etc.
