Feeding wild fish to your pets fish?

Is it ok to feed wild fish to your pet fish? I know whole prey is best maybe if you freeze the wild fish first? My future wet pet would be an umbee if that helps any

Freeze them first then you can feed them to your umbee. The biggest question is what kind of wild fish you are going to feed to umbee?

Was going to use two 5 gallon water jugs butt to butt with the tops inverted baited with bread the holes are about an inch in a half so should be able to get small minnows and other small fish

A lot of native fish carry parasites. I wouldn't feed them anything from the lake myself including minnows. jmo

All of fish species carry parasites....included the ones we eat for dinner. Freezing kills parasites.

I don't have any fish that need live feeders currently but when I did I would catch minnows and sunfish at the creek with a cast net or minnow trap.I treated them in a tank with parasite medication before feeding them to my fish.I would never give untreated feeders to my fish.

We used to go down to the creek flip over rocks and catch crayfish, just to feed to an oscar.

The fish loved em, and lived a long time, never had an issue with parasites.

But that doesnt mean it wouldn't happen to somebody else.
