My 117 has an over flow filter. when I feed my convict floating pellets they get sucked in the overflow before the convict even knows the food is there. I tried feeding sinking pellets but he doesn't seem to be eating them. Is there a way I can still feed floating pellets and without them being sucked in the overflow

That's not a bad idea. I thought about turning off the return pump

i have that prob with small minnows

I'm gunna try both and see what works better. I just remembered when I had a circulation pump it would suck the food under water and push it out in the current. Do you think that will work

I tried running an air stone underneath a siphon overflow and the bubbles kept getting sucked in and reducing the siphon. I just turn the pump off a few minutes before feeding.

feeding rings work for me for my smaller community fish and my convict breeding tank

I thougjt of feeding rings but I don't want to make it hard for him to find food since he's the only one in there right now.
