hello just need a suggestion as to what and how to feed smaller arowanas, other than live feeder fish---i am about to get a Scleropages leichardti between 4-6 inches i use new spectrum products for my current fish how are their larger fish formulations what size pellets thanks rollerboy244

When arowanas still have a yolk sac dont feed them till it is completley gone. when it is gone you can feed it anything i fed mine frozen bloodworms and pellets. they will eat anything when they are young so u can teach it to stay away from feeders. now i feed mine krill and jumbomin floating sticks, it made my silver aro turn into a silver w/ red highlights.

They eat pretty much anything.. try cutting small pieces of market shrimp and throwing it in an arc.. when the shrimp hits the water, the aro will chase it ...

At that size Mealworms are nice. Crickets are also a good choice. Nice & Soft.
Also will improve the shine....

My baby aros loved crickets and prawns.

the hard carapice of the crickets and mealworms are not the best for the young aros because it could mess up the digestive track. stick w/ what i said before and your aro will flourish.

i fed my baby arowanas with a bbq stick
pit the shrim on the end
and let him chase it for a little.

i feed most my fish like this so they all get food

thanks for the replies guys my leichardti showed up on the plane this afternoon great shape ate flakes i was feeding my cycling fishes--so my worries are over my prevous arowanas i had as a kid would only eat live fish
blacks and jardinis---i probably didn't try hard enough to wean off of them now that i am older and wiser LOL Any one with leichardti experience know if their colors can be enhanced especially the reds with foods pellets krill etc
