As the title says.

I've giving my Arowana frozen rainbow trout for a couple of weeks now.He really seems to like it,even more so than the beef heart.I was just wondereing if this was the best possible way to feed my Arowana,as it was what a few of the retailers were telling me?:)

It is a good food for him but should also supplement his diet with shrimp, pellets and beef heart... It can be a main food for short term about a month or so but try to supplement his diet with other foods as well as trout.

I agree ..A varied diet is usaully the best however Aro's can be finnicky, make sure to stick some quality pellets into the trout to make sure all bases of the diet are taken care of.. I also feed raw chicken, oysters, clams, mussels and hot dogs.. The hot dogs where a tip I recieved on this forum from the upper left coast. They love them!

If he likes it then go for it,but do try some raw shrimp,my Jar loves it!!Also if you can find this..its made by HBH and is called "Super Soft" it is Krill formed into little cubes that sink,my Jar goes beserk for it!!Good luck with your Aro!!!!

Feed mine all types of frozen fish and shrimp.

pellets are the best i hear... And cheapest... I guess best in that light, but still, my jar loves pellets when hes hungry. And I always try to feed him aro pellets first and just let him snack on the varieties...
