Hello, I just recently purchased a Senegal bichir and a ropefish as well as 3 giant danio's that the lady at the pet shop said would go well with them. When i try to feed the bichir and the rope with frozen bloodworms that cant get to it before the danio's eat it all. I dont want to risk overfeeding the danio's in order to feed the bichir and the rope so I am confiused on what to do, any suggestions or idea's?

sure just add some flakes on the surface for the danio's and while they are busy eating drop in some sinking carnivore pellets for the polys...

also the danio's are active durring the day so you can feed them while the lights are on. the polys are more active at night so you can always add in the sinking pellets after you turn the lights off and the danio's start resting.

hope that helps...

Alright I will give that a try I'm sure it will work for the rope but my sens seems to prefer the top of the tank. Will he go down after the food?

ya my rope does that too...because of that i always keep some live ghost shrimp and small feeder mollys in the tank so he can hunt at night. i vary rarely see my rope eat but what i do see are the bulges in his stomach in the morning.

Ever hear of the old bottle trick? add food to an old bottle put it in the tank the ropefish shold be able to eat undisturbed-Anne

Pretty good for a dullard huh?lol

The method I have used in the past to get food past the upper/mid level swimming fish to the bottom dwellers was to drop it through a pvc pipe to the bottom.
